Korra's Medical Bill fund

Hi, my name is Teresa Maynard and I am the grandmother of Korra McGowan. For those of you who know Korra, you know she loves life and is so full of it. She is so inquisitive, loving and smart. Just so full of wonder. Korra's father, Kevin McGowan and mother, Jennifer Maynard (and Matthew Quirin) could use your prayers and healing thoughts right now. Korra is sick and has had a severe allergic reaction to the antibiotics she was given for a bladder infection. She is in good hands at Parkview Regional Medical Center's Children’s hospital in Ft. Wayne where she has been since Wednesday, but she would much rather be at home. Her skin is bright red, blistering and peeling. They ran some tests and have now discovered that she has a valve that is not working properly in her urinary tract (which has caused her so many different infections) so are referring her out to a pediatric urologist. Also, because of the blistering, a wound team (from the burn unit) has been called in to treat the blisters so they can go home. Korra is in a great deal of pain and is on a heavy pain regimen. They cannot go home until the pain is manageable, Korra eats more, and the wounds are healing properly. Jen and Matt have a brand new baby and being at the hospital away from him have been rough. Susan Taft (Matt's mom) and I have been taking turns taking care of Colton but Jen misses him terribly. As for Korra; no five-year-old should have to endure pain and our hearts are breaking for them. Not only is this an emotional hardship it is a financial one. Jennifer, Kevin and Matt have all taken time off, unpaid, to be by Korra's side during this time. Jennifer is there holding her hand while they peel away at her skin and force medicine down her scratchy throat. It was difficult enough to pay bills, but now they are behind. We would like to raise enough money to pay for Korra's medical bills so that does not compound the situation. If you have it in your heart and pocketbook to donate, we will ensure the money goes to cover costs associated with Korra's stay in the hospital.
