Kota's grandpa just died on the 21st of November, causing all kinds of difficult problems, both spiritual and financial, for his family to sort out over the holidays.

Last night (December 5th...one day after his 2nd birthday), this sweet, healing angel, MUCH needed by his family... was shaking and vomiting and had blood in his stool, and was taken straight away to the Emergency Veterinarian in Charlottesville, VA.

The prognosis is bromethalin toxicosis, rat poisoning, as he has been staying at his sweet Grandma's house and has access to a wooded property without constant supervision, which hasn't been a problem in the past. Apparently he found some poison, or a rat that died of poison, and ate some.

The costly deposit was $800, and with all of the tests and medication, new shots and follow up visits, the vet's estimate has ballooned to $1,800.

I am not one to ask for charity for myself, but these are sweet people, in a tough place right now, and anything you could do to help this dog that we all love so very much, would be a real Holiday Blessing, in a time of need.
