Kent Waldron Family Support and Memorial Fund

To know Kent Waldron was to love him. Our beloved neighbor, friend, brother, father, uncle, and chef extraordinaire left us too fast and too soon. Kent was recently diagnosed with stage IV Glioblastoma, for which he underwent two invasive surgeries and nearly a month long hospital stay. Kent had been at home recovering with his family for about a week when he passed away suddenly on the morning of August 6th. It was a devastating blow to all who knew and loved him.
We have set up this fundraiser as a way to honor Kent and show love to his family. Kent was effortlessly selfless and endlessly generous - with his time, his food, his love, and his humor. He was always thinking of others and looking to fill a need. Now is our chance to give back and show our love to his family, who meant the absolute world to him.
Prior to Kent's illness, his beloved wife Laura has been dealing with early onset Alzheimer's for the past several years. With her increasing memory loss comes many needs, and the cost of her care is something that their children - Gabrielle, Alec, Madison (and partner Louisa) will be shouldering, in addition to the immediate costs of Kent's hospital bills and funeral arrangements. This beautiful family will benefit greatly from our financial support during this difficult time as they move forward in caring for Laura and celebrating their dad's incredible life.
Thank you all for your love and support. We miss you Kent, and we'll keep you in our hearts.
We are gathering images and memories of Kent in the file below, please feel free to share.
Obituary:
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a beloved man, Kent Richins Waldron, on August 6, 2023. We were completely surprised a few weeks ago to learn that a tumor had formed in Kent’s brain and he was swiftly taken from us. Even with the profound sadness, family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues, were all blessed to gather, laugh, and cry together before this final chapter closed.
Kent was born June 10, 1961, in Ogden Utah. Much of his life was lived in Weber and Davis counties where he attended school and established his own home. Kent married Laura Langevin on October 12, 1991. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake temple. They are the proud parents of Gabby, Alec, and Madison. This loving family made their home in Farmington for more than 20 years where they are blessed by wonderful neighbors and a lifetime of experiences. Their home is always welcoming to anyone and a comfortable place to visit. Kent was a model of how to love one’s neighbor. And he gave faithful service in his several church assignments.
For many years, Kent was a safety manager to large construction companies with international operations. Kent’s work took him to job sites near and far. Being on the road helped Kent satisfy many of his curiosities. Later he clearly was most fulfilled by laboring in the kitchen and that enabled his creativity to flourish.
A celebration of life in Kent’s honor will take place at 11:00 on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Farmington 5th Ward, Rock Chapel, located at 272 North Main. You can greet family at the Rock Chapel at 10:00 before the services, or Friday evening 6:00 – 8:00 at Farmington Russon Mortuary 1941 N. Main.
