Rally For Rebecca

Donation protected
Early this month, we were devastated to learn that our beautiful and vibrant, 45-year-old sister, Rebecca, was diagnosed with stage 3 Lung cancer.

After handling the shock of her initial diagnosis that had been mis-diagnosed and treated as a case of pneumonia, Rebecca has been grappling with the immensity of her illness while simultaneously trying to maintain her job as a bus dispatcher for the town of Monson, caring for her two teenage daughters, and attending a slew of doctors’ appointments that have become her new normal.

Due to the late diagnosis and aggressive nature of her cancer, her doctor has initiated an immediate and aggressive plan for treatment and she is diligently working to stay on task.  This cancer has grown quickly and needed to be addressed immediately.  Rebecca has had to undergo many tests such as CTscans, MRI's, a PET scan, biopsys, bonescans, EKGs, and blood work. Rebecca began her treatment on January 22nd and it will consist of a combination of radiation and chemotherapy.

Rebecca has had to navigate difficult conversations with her two teenage daughters, yet always keeps a positive outlook.  As Rebecca faces the accumulated strain of radiation and chemotherapy, she will have to stop working – as a single mother it’s a salary on which her family depends.  On top of this, there will be a range of medical, living, and other expenses associated with her battle. We are asking for your help to cover these costs so that our sister can use these next months to be with her family and focus on the biggest fight of her life without the added stress of worrying about the mounting financial burden that her situation is going to create.

We feel blessed to be within Rebecca's wide circle of loving care.  As many of you know Rebecca would be the last person to ask for help and one of the first to offer her help to any of her many friends, family members, neighbors, and acquaintances who may have needed her assistance in the past.  Many of those same people have reached out to us, curious about how they can support her which is why we have started this Go Fund Me.

If we EVER needed to lean on family and friends, now would be the time.  We simply ask that you reach as far as you can to spread the word and meet our goal.   Every prayer, every dollar, every gesture of support is greatly appreciated.

With Gratitude,
