Help Sunshine in this difficult time. ☀️

Hi friends and family, my name is Morgan and I am starting this page for my sister Sunshine. Sunshine is a hardworking, loving, and thoughtful person. She has worked hard her whole life and has always helped others around her who needed help. Now she needs some help. She has been struggling with some health issues, and in the last year these issues have got much worse. She has now lost most of her mobility. She was just given the devastating news she has a brain tumor and it’s the causing a great deal of the issues. The tumor is prohibiting her from being able to perform normal daily tasks on her own. She now requires constant assistance. This devastating blow has also taken a huge financial hardship on her household as she has been unable to work recently. She will be having surgery soon to remove the tumor. She will be in rehabilitation and unable to work for an undetermined amount of time afterwards. Her husband is also unable to get FMLA which will cause additional strain to the already overwhelming situation. I am asking for any type of donation, every dollar counts. If you are unable to donate financially we are also asking for prayers for a full and speedy recovery. Thank you for your help and thank you for sharing this post.

Update: First off we just wanted to thank everyone that has donated, sent prayers, and reached out to Sunshine it means more than you will ever know. Sunshine went and seen the neurosurgeon this week. We found out that the primary care looked at the MRI incorrectly. Sunshine actually has a tumor in her spine in the C2,3,4 region that is applying pressure to her brain. The Meningioma tumor is in a tricky spot to remove. We found out that if she doesn’t have the surgery, she will be completely paralyzed in a matter of months due to the size and how it’s pushing on the nerves in the spine. We also found out there are also a lot of potential complications. However she must have the surgery to try and avoid being a quadriplegic. We’re asking for your continued prayers for insurance to approve this surgery fast, to guide the doctor’s hands in removing it, and for Sunshine to make a full recovery in the next few months.

Update 3.6.24 Sunshine had her surgery on 2.27.24. They were able to remove most of the tumor, leaving just a tiny bit that will have to be monitored. With her surgery she did have to get some pins and screws put in. It was also discovered due to all this she has a heart condition now that will also need continuous monitoring. She was in ICU for a few days then was moved to the neuro floor for a few days. I am happy to report yesterday she was moved to the Mary Free Bed Rehab area attached to the hospital. They told her she would be there for 3 to 4 weeks but of course Sunshine being herself is shooting for 10 days. I got to see her today and she looked great. She has feeling on the left side of her body, but needs to learn how to reuse it with physical and occupational therapy. We couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome. God is so good! Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers everyone has sent. Sunshine still has long road ahead of her but she is champ and will continue to fight everyday to get back to her normal self.
