Rebecka Carnes Memorial Fund

My family lost one of our own yesterday in the shooting at Umpqua Community College (UCC). My vibrant young cousin, Rebecka Carnes lost her life. My heart aches for her parents, sister, grandparents, aunt and uncle. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have watched Becka grow up. She had just started a new job and college classes. This isn't how life is supposed to work and I am struggling to wrap my mind around the entire situation.

On behalf of her parents, I have started this to raise money to help them with Becka's final expenses.

Please keep her loved ones in your thoughts as we all try to come to terms with what has happened. She had people in her life that loved her fiercely and are devastated.

There is no moment like the present, my dear friends and family. Don't let life ever become so busy that you don't have a moment to stop and be kind to someone. Let love and gentleness shine in the wake of this violence.
