My mother, Nancy Kramer, passed away on December 3, 2023, surrounded by family and caregivers. I spent the past 9 years devoted to caring for her in her decline from Alzheimer's and dementia. Please help me give my mother a proper send off in celebration of her life. Funds raised will support her memorial AND make it possible for her husband to rest and get vital medical care. She is survived by her husband Vincent Bolden, daughter Rachel, her son-in-law Makinde, and her three grandchildren, Issa age 9, Salim age 4, and baby Daalia age 5 months.

Her services are planned for January 12, 2024, 11am-1pm, at 762 Fulton Street, San Francisco, CA.

Obituary for Nancy Kramer

Nancy Kramer, age 80, of San Francisco, California, passed away on December 3, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Gerald Milton Kramer and Pauline Kaplan.

Nancy was a strong, independent woman who made a lasting impact on those around her. After falling in love with the Bay Area during summer camp in Calistoga, she moved to San Francisco in the 1960s. Nancy owned her own home in The Haight Ashbury for 43 years and embraced the vibrant culture of the city during the 60s and 70s. She was known as the life of the party and warmly welcomed many friends into her life.

In 1981, Nancy's life took a beautiful turn when she met Vincent, her loving husband, who moved in across the street from her on Rivoli Street. It was love at first sight, and they spent nearly 40 wonderful years together. Nancy's greatest joy came from being a mother to her daughter, Rachel, who was born in 1984. She encouraged Rachel to excel academically, pursue the arts, and explore the world through travel.

Nancy had a passion for fine dining and developed close friendships with local chefs. She also had a deep love for animals, particularly German Shepherds, and rescue cats. She contributed to the Humane Society for Animals, and also cared deeply about racial justice and reproductive rights via her involvement in the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood.

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Vincent; her beloved daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law, Makinde; and her cherished grandchildren, Issa, Salim, and Daalia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Kramer, circa 1950.

Nancy had a successful career as a Telecommunications Analyst, dedicating 40 years of service to the field. Her expertise and dedication left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the industry as a whole.

A celebration of Nancy's life is planned for January 12, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at the African American Art and Culture Complex in San Francisco, located at 762 Fulton Street. Friends, family, and all those whose lives Nancy touched are invited to join in honoring her memory.

Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit and legacy will forever be remembered and cherished.
