Kris Egerstrom peacefully passed on February 23rd. He was a kind, generous, caring, and gifted man who had addiction and mental health problems that tragically took their toll on his life. Kris touched the lives of so many during his journey looking for recovery.  He was one of so many people that struggle with the same problem.

He was dearly loved by his parents, Gary and Julia, his sister Kelli and her family, Robert and Benjamin, and his fiancé, Yolonda Boston-Creigh. His unexpected passing has created a significant hole in all our lives. We miss him dearly.

In a few months, when it is safer to be together, the family will host a celebration of life service to give Kris his final peace from this world and say goodbye. We will let everyone know as soon as possible. This has been a trying past year and it will be good to be together to support one another and share story and photos.

In the meantime, there is no better way to celebrate his life then by starting a foundation to help others who are tormented by mental health issues and addiction. This go fund me site in his name is a tribute to Kris and will be dedicated to finding better ways to get treatment for those who are suffering with this disease. We loved Kris as fiercely as we could, but Kris could never find the acceptance from life that he desperately craved. We want to help others avoid the same grievous end. It does not have to be this way.

Kris was a prolific and talented glass blower. We intend to contribute a memorial in Kris's name to LifeHouse Recovery Connection. I am working on setting  up a non-profit foundation in Kris’s name using the sale of his art glass. This is the start of a legacy that will use Kris's amazing artwork to support services for those who are in the same battle.

We will contact everyone once the foundation is off the ground so you can purchase one of Kris's pieces or contribute to the non-profit. Until then the Art Glass Guild at Studio 25 in Spanish Village is still selling Kris’s artwork if you wish to purchase one of Kris's pieces. He would be happy to know that his art was helping others.

Please consider supporting this worthy cause.
