Kris's Gender Affirming Top Surgery
I started my FTM transition a little over six years ago after years of struggling with my gender identity. When I began HRT (hormone replacement therapy) I was lucky to have access to healthcare, free therapy, and a supportive community that championed me as I sought to live authentically.
Since then, I've been able to stop hiding who I am from the people I love and feel more hopeful about my future than ever before. It was a long and difficult road to get me to this point, but now I'm seeking to close this chapter of my life and finalize my FTM transition with gender affirming top surgery this year!
Unfortunately, my healthcare provider doesn't cover any of my surgery costs so I'll be paying entirely out of pocket for this procedure. Still, I'm grateful to have an awesome place of work offering me ample time off and a steady income, so I've only put half of my surgery costs as the goal for this campaign.
I'll also be turning 30 this September, so in leu of the usual birthday celebrations (and because we're in a pandemic) I'm hoping that whatever we would have spent together on drinks or dinner could go towards this fundraiser.
To sweeten the deal, I'll be giving away digital downloads of two musical projects I've put together while sheltering at home. I've included links for both below so you can give them a listen.
"Quarantine Singles" includes 2 songs I've written and recorded at home since the start of COVID and the protests. Stream for a limited time on Soundcloud
"Songs From Before" includes 7 songs (some never released) written and recorded at the very beginning of my transition that are incredibly near and dear to my heart. Stream for a limited time on Soundcloud
* If you give $2 - $5, I'll message you with a special link and code to download the "Quarantine Singles - EP"
* If you give $5 - $15, I'll message you with a special link and code to download the "Songs From Before - EP"
* If you give $15 or more, you get both!
Thank you for taking the time check out my fundraiser, and please share it with your friends! All contributions are greatly appreciated, and if you'd like to hear more of my story or the stories of other trans/non-binary folks check out the documentary series "Climbing Every Mountain " on Youtube by Transilient.
In love and social distance,
Kris
