**Update on Dad's Journey to Recovery**
- 01/19/23
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
As the days go by, we are constantly reminded of the warmth and generosity you've all shown through this incredibly challenging time. Your donations and heartfelt messages have been beacons of hope for us, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
We're reaching out to share the latest on my dad's condition and his road to recovery. Since our last update, we've learned that he will require extensive occupational therapy (OT). The path ahead is not easy; he's facing the monumental task of relearning basic skills, including how to write. It's almost like starting from scratch, but Dad's resilience is as strong as ever, and he's ready to tackle each day with determination.
Despite the strides he's made, Dad's health remains a puzzle to us and his medical team. There's a long list of tests and assessments still on the horizon as we strive to unravel the mystery of his condition. We're hopeful that with each test, we inch closer to understanding and better treating his ailments.
We want to express our deepest thanks for your support thus far. Your contributions are helping so much; they've lifted Dad's spirits, knowing there's a community rallying behind him. As we prepare for the long road ahead, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
For those who wish to continue supporting Dad's journey, your generosity is as appreciated as ever. Every bit helps us focus on what's most important—his health and recovery.
We promise to keep you updated as we take each step forward. Thank you again for being part of Dad's support network. Together, we are stronger.
With immense gratitude,
- Kiercy Seehus
Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We are reaching out to you today to share the story of our beloved father, a man who has always been our pillar of strength, the one who taught us the value of resilience, kindness, and unwavering support for others. Now, he is the one in need of our help.
Recently, our dad faced an unexpected and life-threatening medical emergency, January 11th my dad was brought to the hospital where he found out he had dangerously low sodium levels and his kidneys were failing him, only 4 days later he was medically released to go back home. Not even 24 hours later he was rushed back to the hospital where they found a massive and rare blood clot formed in an artery in his neck. His doctors were astounded by the size and nature of the clot, remarking that they'd never seen anything quite like it. Tragically, parts of the clot dislodged and traveled to his brain, causing a series of mini strokes and bleeds. As a result, he had lost vision in his right eye, impacting his balance and ability to navigate the world around him.
Despite these harrowing challenges, our dad's spirit remains unbroken. Those who know him can attest to his incredible mental fortitude and his generous heart. He's the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, who has always been there to lend a hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to lean on.
Now, he's the one who needs our support. The road to recovery will be long and uncertain. Expenses have begun to pile up, and the cost of ongoing care, having animals and 2 teenagers (15 and 16), and necessary home accommodations are daunting.
This is a man who has devoted his life to being there for others, and we believe it's our turn to give back to him. All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly towards his bills, and making sure that our dad can focus on his recovery without the added stress of financial burden.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in his life during this challenging time. If you're unable to donate, we ask that you please share this campaign with others or simply send your thoughts and prayers for his recovery.
We are confident that with your help, our dad can navigate this setback with the same tenacity and grace that he has shown throughout his life. Please join us in supporting a truly good man in his time of need.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support.
