Kriss Boatman Fundraiser

Donation protected
As many of you know Kriss has had a fierce battle with Cancer since 2016. He had gone 3.5 years cancer free. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned.

Kriss is always the first person to jump in to help others but the last to ask for help for himself. We know Kriss has been very grateful for everyone's help throughout his battle, but now your help is needed more than ever.

**FYI we have discovered that the go fund me link has a "tip" slider that they have set to a default %. You can put this to zero. The tip is considered a way to donate to Go Fund Me to enhance and continue their services but absolutely not required.

Even though he is heavily medicated, there are no good days for Kriss’s pain. With the amount of physical pain that Kriss is in, even the most simple daily activities like walking up the stairs, getting into the bathtub, and even getting out of a chair, are just not possible at this time.

It is getting extremely hard for him to walk and he is now using a walker and wheelchair.

At this time expensive medical equipment is needed as well as help with the expenses that will come with his grueling treatments.

Warm water tends to give Kriss some relief and the thought is an install of a walk-in shower/bath with jacuzzi jets could provide him the much needed relief he deserves.

We are also hoping to install a lift to get Kriss up and down the stairs.

We would appreciate extra prayers and any monetary donations to help support Kriss and his battle with chronic pain and a new cancer diagnosis.

With gratitude,
Brian Rosen (lifetime friend of Kriss’) and ALL who love Kriss and Patty

Timeline of Kriss’ diagnoses and treatments

October 2016, Kriss was diagnosed with bladder cancer, followed by three surgeries and chemotherapy.

May 2017, the cancer returned and Kriss had another surgery and chemotherapy treatments.

After his last treatment in November 2018, they discovered the cancer returned once again as a high grade urothelial carcinoma.

January 2019, Kriss had a Cystoprostectomy to remove his entire bladder and prostate. His doctors also discovered cancer in the prostate after it was removed. They made him a new bladder out of his small intestine called a neo-bladder.

April 2019, Kriss had a back injury at work. He was out of work for an entire year until they surgically implanted a spinal stimulator into his lower back. Although that did not take away the pain completely, Kriss did return to work in May 2022

In April 2022, Kriss received a clean cancer screening.

Then in August of 2022 his pain started to increase more and more and in December he was no longer able to work, due to the extreme pain.

Because of Workman's Comp, his treatments and radiology scans were delayed due to the approval process. His pain was progressing every day.

Due to the increased pain from the back injury they scheduled him for an MRI and CT scan where they discovered the Metastatic Cancer.

Following the initial appointment, he was quickly scheduled for even more scans and tests. Including ultrasound with biopsy, more CT scans, PET scan, and a two hour MRI.

The results from the biopsy and the radiology exams confirmed the Metastatic Malignant Neoplasm of the bladder, which spread through his spine and bones.
The progression of the Osseous Metastatic Disease is in the cervical spine,
thoracic spine, lumbar spine, sacrum, bilateral iliac (hip) bones, proximal femur (leg) bones, right acetabulum, ribs, including the lymph nodes in the neck and chest. The cancer that is growing out of his spine and bones are causing further fractures, narrowing, stenosis, bulging not to mention the excruciating pain and leg numbness.

Radiation treatments started on January 31, 2023 with the plan of ending the treatment on February 16th. Chemotherapy is to begin on February 20. The plan for chemo will be two weeks on, then one week off for a period of 2 to 3 months. Followed by another PET scan to see if the treatment is working or not. The doctors will reassess from there.

Kriss and his fiancé Patty Klimas Lanting are planning a wedding for May 7th, 2023.
