Krista- Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Warrior

We are Skip and Becky McKenna, Dad and bonus Mom to Krista (McKenna) Patterson and this fundraiser is for her. Krista was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer in December of last year. As often happens with the “C” word, it metastasized to her Ovaries, Lungs, Liver, and Lymph Nodes. To say it was unexpected is a true understatement. She, Bruce, and Jake have been battling this disease with everything they’ve got. Krista is a true warrior, as she has now undergone 14 rounds of Chemo so far. We finally received good news that The Cleveland Clinic is going to take on her case!! Starting next week, she will travel to Cleveland to get Radiation Markers for her 5 day Targeted Radiation treatment followed shortly by a very complicated surgery to remove as much Cancer as they possibly can.

Now that you know the basics of their story you can understand how difficult the last 8 months have been. This cancer is a very angry type and the treatment is even meaner. Krista is no longer able to work. The medical bills have taken a toll.

This family is so giving and has given and done so much for so many friends and family. They would never admit that they are starting to struggle and are humbled by all the moral support, prayers, gifts, and gift cards they have received thus far in the journey.

The next couple of months are going to be very expensive as there are going to be multiple trips to Cleveland. There will be hotels, a lot of gas for driving back and forth and food while they are away from home. That’s why Skip and I decided to start this go fund me. We want to help them and know that so many people have reached out over the months wanting to do something, anything for them. Now, is when you can really help with a donation. No donation is too small. Anything is a huge help and appreciated more than we could ever express.

The money raised will be deposited directly in their bank account for their use as this next battle to win this fight starts!
