Hello, My name is Lori Briggs. My sister Kristen has been in the hospital since Monday. This picture is the first time we have Kristen sitting up and smiling in a week. This is due to a steroid being given to her to help reduce pressure on her brain. Kristen was admitted into the hospital on Monday, where they found a brain tumor. Kristen has multiple surgeries coming up as well as seeing numerous specialists. We await test results so the doctors can decide the best course of action. The tumor puts pressure on her brain, causing confusion and memory loss. Kristen does not realize how long she has been in the hospital. We visit her daily, but every day is a start over for her. She does not remember who has come to see her. Kristen is a single mom and the only thing she has been consistent about is asking for her daughter, Alyvia. On Thursday, Kristen was a bit more awake due to the steroids. We gave her this picture of Alyvia, and she lit up joyfully. She has been holding onto the photo, asking when she can snuggle Alyvia again. This will be a long process for Kristen, and we want to give her all the help we can. We are raising funds to help Kristen with medical expenses, household bills and ensure Alyvia has everything she needs. We greatly appreciate any way you can help.
