Kristi Arnold Park Addition: Kiwanis Woodlot Park

The Kiwanis Club of Mitchell, SD wanted to do something special when they lost a dear member in 2019. Kristi Arnold was an active Kiwanis member and also served as a board member. She is truly missed. The idea for a memorial in Kristi's honor became plans to put a playground addition at the current Kiwanis Woodlot Park. This new addition will be for people of ALL abilities. Kids and adults with mobility issues can enjoy the playground with their families.

Kristi had been a LifeQuest client since 1994. She enjoyed getting out and about in the community of Mitchell. Her wheelchair did not slow her down! Attending Kiwanis meetings and events, volunteering at church and working in various locations brought her joy.

Kiwanis Club of Mitchell wants to bring joy to others in our community. Families can enjoy this playground together. The We-Go-Round and the Rocking Raft allow persons in wheelchairs or walkers a place to ride and have fun right beside their family and friends. Music Panels will allow creativity with sound. A family bench and wheelchair-accessible picnic table will allow for family gatherings.

Kristi's family asked the club to create an online option for donations so friends and family could donate towards this project in honor of Kristi and also in memory of her mom, Kathy.

Donors of $500 or more will have their names included on the Donor Wall at the park.
