Kristi Hastings Emergency Medical Expense

Hi, I’m Kristi’s sister. On Monday 9/18/23, Kristi woke up with a bad toothache, so she thought. By the time she got into at a Dentist around 1pm, the infection was so bad it was starting to block her airway. She was immediately sent to the ER where she remained hospitalized for 5 days with an abscess in her jaw bone that caused a severe infection. She’s home now but on 24/7 Midline IV antibiotics which could remain for weeks. Since she works in food service, she cannot work as long as she has the IV in her arm.

She is a single mother and sole provider for her 13yr old daughter. Bills are coming due and her insurance does not cover oral surgery. She will have to pay out of pocket and it’s not a simple extraction because of the severe infection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this sudden illness came out of nowhere.

Update 2 -10/4/23: The oral surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday. Insurance does not cover this. Thanks for the support. Every bit helps get this taken care of. In other news… insurance is trying to deny responsibility for the hospital stay which was literally a life and death situation. So now, she fights.
