Help Kristian Nyberg Fight Brain Cancer!

Donation protected
It breaks our heart to face Kristian's diagnoses with Stage-4 Brain Cancer, We really wish we didn't have to do this, but we don't have any other option to help save his life! Here is Kristian Nyberg's story and we humbly ask you for any support possible!

Kristian is an incredible human being that has touched many across the automotive enthusiast community over the years with his infectious personality and attitude towards life and camaraderie. Kristian has become a staple at drag racing events across the country and has befriended many from regular car fans to the industries top drivers and companies. We at Speed Society are proud to call Kristian one of our own.

The Backstory:
It comes with a heavy heart, tragic news has transpired with Kristian’s heath and he needs all our help! During the Performance Racing Industry trade show a few weeks ago, Kristian went to grab a glass to drink and physically couldn’t, knocking it over in the process. He randomly lost mobility of his hand, immediately triggering concern for us all. Kristian went to the ER thinking something must be wrong with his arm or shoulder, however, the doctor said that the symptoms don’t seem likely and ordered an MRI of his head. That is where our greatest fears were realized, the MRI showed a mass in his brain, doctors then performed a biopsy and diagnosed Kristian with Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage-4 Cancer.

About Kristian Nyberg:
Kristian Nyberg is a 43 years old husband and father of 3 beautiful children. “As I spend more time reflecting on how much I have been able to do in my life, I’m so thankful”, Kristian told us. He was born in Houston and spent his childhood riding motorcycles, exploring the woods and hanging out with his friends. He joined the Navy at 17 years old and shipped off to bootcamp in Orlando, Florida. Went to SSC in San Diego for training where he was #1 in class and had first choice of duty stations. He chose Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After finishing his time in Hawaii, Kristian picked a ship that was still being built and sailed it from Mississippi around the tip of South America to home port in San Diego. He then did Westpac tours to the gulf and got to see many things. “I’ll never forget the feeling of being in the middle of the ocean on a pitch black night watching the phosphorescence in the water, truly amazing.” Kristian got out of active service after 6 years and found a job in the newspaper with a new robotics company. He was employee #7. Deeply missing the Navy, he joined back as a reservist intelligence specialist but still kept his civilian job. He Spent 5 years in the reserve and continued working in the life sciences industry where he was afforded the ability to travel, a lot! He has made it to 37 countries. “There are more on my list to go to though, lol”, he told us. “I’ve had so many opportunities to live my dreams, and follow my passions. From my love of travel and seeing new things, to my love of everything automotive and being able to experience racing, cars and friends. I really have had a lot of blessings.” Kristian met the love of his life, his soulmate Stacy Nyberg. “I couldn’t have found a better partner, we raised our beautiful kids and I’m so proud of them. I’m thankful for all the people, friends and family along the way. there is a purpose for everyone, even if you don’t immediately understand it”.
