Kristina McLaughlin Serious Car Accident
Donation protected
On Saturday, December 9th, our local drag queen, Kristina McLaughlin, was headed to entertain at a holiday party in Columbia, TN, completely ready for a meet and greet in her fabulous Mrs. Clause costume. Along the way, something moved into the road in front of her (she doesn't remember if it was a car or deer). She swerved to avoid hitting it, and her car flipped several times down a ditch, throwing Kristina through the window of the car, even though she was wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to Vanderbilt Emergency Room, where doctors learned that she had many internal injuries; brain bleed, punctured lung, fractured ribs, fractured back, fractured pelvis, and the most severe was a shattered right arm that had to be repaired through surgery and the use of internal hardware throughout the arm. Kristina has a long road of recovery ahead...
Aside from being a fabulous Drag Queen, Kristina is also a caregiver to loved ones in her home who have serious health and mobility issues. She is the only driver, and the car that was totaled was the only car they had.
We are raising funds to help Kristina replace her car, and it would need to be at least a small SUV so that wheelchairs could easily be loaded and unloaded. We also want to help her pay living expenses for at least the next three to six months while she is recovering from the accident. Her main source of income involved dancing, which will take some time to get back to.
