Healing My Breast Cancer

Hello. It's been awhile since you’ve last heard any updates about me from my cancer fight page…
Rewind back: In September 2012, a good friend of mine lost her mother suddenly to uterine cancer. Her mom had no idea she had cancer until it was too late. That was scary news to me since it had been a while since I had my last physical. So, I scheduled an appointment right away and unfortunately, I found out I had breast cancer - Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS).
No one expects the ugly “C” word attached to their name. I felt like I had just been given a death sentence. My first thought was my family. I have a wonderful husband and four wonderful children who need me. This news was terrifying, but I had to remember at that moment to let my faith be stronger than my fear.
In February/March 2013, I underwent four surgeries, in which three of the surgeries happened two weeks apart. (1st surgery - Bilateral Mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction, 2nd surgery - removal of more cancer cells and sentinel lymph node biopsy, 3rd surgery - removal of temporary expander due to infection and 4th surgery - temporary expander implanted).
Fast forward to now: Recently, I discovered a hard lump that was growing in my lymph node under my left armpit. The biopsy results confirmed it was cancer. It’s a brand new type of breast cancer and it is aggressive (HER2+). This is devastating news for me and my family. I am here asking for your support to help me raise funds to attend the Gerson Treatment Center, which is an out of country treatment. The decision to go this route is one that my family and I believe in and that we have prayed about and continue to pray about. Many of you will have questions as to “Why not chemo?” Why not radiation therapy?” “Why not surgery?” My answer is simple and from the heart. I have done a tremendous amount of research and I have chosen this path for my family and I because it’s what I feel comfortable with and what I feel is the best choice for my healing. I truly need all of your positive support and prayers as I take this step toward beating this cancer and begin the healing process. I want to live and I want to be here for my family and when I pray, this is the direction God is guiding me.
My plan for healing: My plan is to apply for alternative cancer treatment at the Gerson Institute in Mexico. The Gerson Therapy is a proven method of healing. The Gerson Therapy uses intensive detoxification to eliminate wastes, regenerate the liver, reactivate the immune system and restore the body's essential defenses - enzyme, mineral and hormone systems. With generous, high-quality nutrition, increased oxygen availability, detoxification, and improved metabolism, the cells - and the body - can regenerate, become healthy and prevent future illness.
If you'd like to learn more about the Gerson Therapy, please visit www.gerson.org. You can also watch The Gerson Miracle or the Beautiful Truth free on YouTube or Netflix.
The initial treatment in Mexico is 2 weeks and the program is recommended to be continued for at least 2 more years at home. Unfortunately, the insurance companies do not cover this type of alternative cancer treatment.
In order to move forward towards recovery, I NEED to raise the necessary funds allowing me to go to the clinic and to continue my healing process through a 2 year maintenance program. This treatment is very costly to maintain and the reason why I am reaching out to all of my family and friends for support. I cannot do this alone.
How can you help?
· Money contribution towards the initial treatment in Mexico – the 2 week required stay at the Gerson Clinic is $11,000. This includes one relative or friend to assist the patient with the program.
· Money contribution towards the treatment at home – roughly will cost about $1500 a month for 2 years. This will cover the cost of the monthly supplements, organic produce and equipment needed for my healing. The two most important aspects of the Gerson approach to healing are freshness and purity. All of the foods ingested on the Gerson Therapy must be fresh, organically or biologically grown, and consumed in their most natural form.
· Gift cards / Gift certificates to Whole Foods, Sprouts or a local farmers market are also greatly appreciated.
I thank you all for anything that you can contribute to help me get the treatment I need to heal. Please feel free to share my story with a friend. My family and I are so blessed and grateful for all the love, prayers and support!
Love and Blessings,
Kristina & Family
