Kristine "Kristy" Rodriguez Bench Fundraiser

Kristine "Kristy" Rodriguez passed away on January 25, 2021 while sitting at the traffic light at 19th and Chadbourne Streets.  She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend and wife who always had an infectious smile and laughter.  She was always interested in the well being of others and never hesitated to reach out to someone in need, especially those with mental health and emotional needs.   At her memorial service, there were over 100 people, standing room only, most of whom I had never met, so that shows you just how many people she knew and befriended.   Family and friends are raising funds to have a memorial bench specifically made for her by Smith Steelworks of Spanish Fork, Utah that will include the image seen above, which is the same image on the t-shirt that is currently available to order under a Go Gear account with Gandy Ink.  The bench will also have on it things that were extermely important to her, such as her passion for mental health awareness.  Kristy worked for MHMR Services of the Concho Valley at the San Angelo Clubhouse and also worked part time at GAFB's commissary.  Texas Bank has been gracious enough to approve us letting the current bench at the bus stop at 18th and Chadbourne be replaced with Kristy's bench.   We are doing this fundraiser to help with the cost of the bench, which will take six weeks to make.  We are hoping to have the bench made and in place by Christmas Day, which would have been Kristy's 39th birthday.
