Kristine's Story

Hi, my name is Ian, I am the fiancé of Kristine, the kindest most caring person I know. Kristine has spent the last 8 years living and working in Ireland as a nurse providing treatment and care to patients nationwide. She has recently found herself in a position whereby the exceptional care that she provides on a daily basis has suddenly hit home and her father Arnel now requires serious medical attention. He has recently had a heart attack, he has diabetes and he also contracted TB making breathing for him extremely difficult with fluid building in his lungs. The sad reality is that he lives in the North of the Philipines were he has been receiving sub standard 3rd World treatment to no avail. Following multiple transfers to different hospitals he has finally been admitted to a hospital where we hope and pray that the correct treatment and intervention will take place. We are now facing a daily charge of €500 just for his accommodation costs, with consultant fees and treatment yet to be included. To make matters worse as he deteriorates the hospital operates on a day by day basis charging daily with a cash only policy. Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, treatment and accommodation are costs that are very quickly building. To live and work in one country where services are available only to know that you have a family member requiring serious treatment in a different country but your at the mercy of a corrupt system is heartbreaking and I am asking for any donations possible to help Kristine and her father during these tough times.
