Kristi’s Battle With Cancer: Round Two

Hello! My name is Kellie and I created this fundraiser to help supplement the heavy weight of medical and travel expenses for my sister Kristi Loyall. In 2016 she was diagnosed with Epithelioid Sarcoma. Her right foot was amputated.

Fast forward to January 2022. She is having intense chest pain, stabbing pain, a difficult time breathing, among many other lesser symptoms. Since January we have been seeking answers, first at OU Stevenson Cancer Center, then at MD Anderson in Houston. After several months and so many tests and procedures that our heads were spinning, we have some answers (and many more are still needed). What we know defiantly is that Kristi has metastasized epitheiold sarcoma in several places in her lungs. Next there is conflicting test results that show the presence of a fungal infection, that if is not treated carefully and monitored closely, can cause many issues including death.

At this point we have two virtual appointments on Tuesday with both her OU and MDA oncologists. This appointment will be to set forth a plan, as well as examine the test results that continue to pour in.

To be quite honest, MDA are the ones who find the cancer after months of searching and no one knowing what is wrong, therefore MDA will set forth the plan we are most likely to follow. If it is possible for treatment to be carried out at OU Kristi would like to do that, just to be close to her home and parents.

Either way Kristi is convinced that aggressive cancer treatment is what she would like to do. As I am sure many of you know this is time consuming, draining and expensive.
