Krug family needs our help

As most of you know, the Krug family’s lives changed forever when Kathy was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November - three days before her 51st birthday. Since that day, Kathy, Donny, Brandon and Sophia have been fighting for her life. Supported by their loving family, they have been providing 24 x 7 care, managing a multitude of medications, traveling to and from hospitals, rearranged their home to accommodate medical equipment, bought an RV and secured a private jet to traverse the country in hopes of being accepted to a medical trial in Houston, TX, and have been covering all expenses. Donny is on calls around the clock trying to get her admitted to different medical programs from Arizona to Thailand.

As you know a situation like this can not only be emotionally but also financially catastrophic. Family and friends and the team at Heartworks NJ have been amazing - providing meals, support, and have been wanting to help take care of the family in any way they can. However to this point, the Krugs have resisted financial support. Between the magnitude of expenses, the increased insurance costs and Donny's dedication at home, Donny's income has been greatly reduced, and they’ve now reached an inflection point where we (their family and close friends) are insisting that they request financial support.

Kathy is our brightest light, has always given so much of herself to each of us, to her community including supporting Heartworks of NJ, and to everyone who crosses her path, she has a lasting impact on each person she encounters with her infectious energy- from her friends’ children to the guy at the gas station. It is no wonder that so many whose lives she has touched want to help and contribute during this time.

We are looking to raise $50K as an Initial target, and any amount - no matter how big or small. It has been a life-altering situation for this family and your support will at least help ease the overwhelming financial stress they are experiencing.
