Ricky needs our help!

Hi, my name is Dan Spillane. I'm a close friend and business associate of Ricky Palominos. I have been helping Ricky navigate some of this chaos during these trying times. If you know Ricky you understand the kind of guy he is. He is always there for his friends and would give you the shirt off of his back if you need help. That being said, Ricky is the one that needs our help now. He is going through a series of medical emergencies.

In 2017, 3 months after finishing the completion of the Compound. He developed an Aortic Aneurysm which burst. He was extremely lucky to survive the episode. Generally speaking, a person who has this happen to them, has about 15 minutes to live as they are bleeding to death internally. Ricky stayed alive long enough to not only get to one hospital (St Francis in South Gate, CA) he was airlifted to Cedars Sinai where once ushered into the emergency room, he went into cardiac arrest. He ended up in a coma for 10 days and was hospitalized for 2 and a half months.

This left Ricky with a disabled left hand. It was also what led to a permanent disability as his Aorta was not fully repaired. Only the upper portion where the Aneurysm burst was repaired. The remainder was left dissected to be repaired later.
Ricky spent the remaining 9 months after the emergency surgery and after waking from the coma, recovering. Having to learn how to walk again and repairing his heart which was also damaged during this time. For the next 5 years, every 6 months he had to have a CT Scan to monitor the dissection in his aorta. He was told that once it expands to 5.5 mm of its current size. A full Aortic repair would be required.

Well, the time came and he had to have the surgery on Jan 5th and a second one on Jan 8th to try and repair the entire Aortic Dissection. Ricky, being the tough SOB that he is survived both surgeries, but not without complications.
This was a major operation. His heart had to be stopped, removed and put on ice. His body temp was dropped to 20 degrees and his body was placed on a heart-lung machine. This was done to keep his chest cavity free of moving blood and his cellular activity was slowed. Almost all of the Aorta was repaired, but there is still a section that had not been repaired yet. His heart was also damaged again during this surgery and is not working optimally. He has a long road ahead. He has been in and out of the hospital every other week. He has many issues now that they hope in time will level off.

Ricky just had his 3rd surgery to help with some circulation complications from the first two surgeries. He is in recovery and everything went well. Now that he can start recovering and getting his strength and independence back he faces a very tough financial situation. Recently, it was determined that he makes too much to receive Medi-Cal and he no longer has supplemental insurance and his hospital bills are growing along with the expense of everyday life. He has been struggling to make ends meet.

This brings me to the help part. Ricky served this country in the Army for 10 years and went on to a 19-year career in music entertainment and production that brought joy to countless people. He's a stand-up guy that I am honored to call my friend. I know Ricky needs the help and I'm doing my part to help him here. Please help Ricky get back on his feet and donate what you can.

Thank you
