Krypto's CCL Surgery

Hi! I'm Nikki, the mom of Krypto and JoJo, two 8-year-old beagles. My husband, Kenny and I have had Krypto since she was 8 weeks old, when we got her from a family member, and our pups mean the world to us!

Krypto has had her fair share of health problems over the years, but her hypertension, hypothyroidism, and hypertriglyceridemia are currently well-managed. Unfortunately, she has now torn her Canine Cruciate Ligament (equivalent to a human's ACL) and may also have a torn meniscus. This causes her to limp, have trouble going up or down stairs (her leg just gives out on her and she's fallen - thankfully no additional injuries so far), have trouble squatting to go to the bathroom, and can no longer jump onto the bed or couch.

Not being able to jump onto the couch makes her sad as she used to frequently hang out on it so she could look out the window and keep watch over the neighborhood. Since she has difficulty walking, she now just sits or lays on the sidewalk when we go outside and she no longer plays with her sister, JoJo.

We want Krypto to get back to herself and be able to live her life to the fullest! This will start with surgery and rehab, but she also needs some pre-surgery testing to eliminate other potential issues. As a heart murmur was recently discovered, she needs a chest x-ray and echocardiogram. Also before surgery, she will need an ultrasound of her stomach as she had some abnormal markers related to her pancreas.

The pre-surgery testing and the surgery aren't cheap. As we've spent several thousand already this year on the pups and their appointments, we could use some help. We're grateful for any funds which will go toward the estimated minimum of $6,903.58 (maximum of estimate is $7,690.08). Thank you for your consideration of helping my beagle baby, Krypto!
