Krystal's family needs your help
Let me introduce you to my friend, Krystal. She's a mom to four beautiful kids and a public servant in King County, WA. She and her family need some help covering basic necessities like food and rent for the next couple of months, and here's why:
Krystal's family has seen some hard times recently. Her husband is a disabled combat veteran. His doctors have instructed him to take full leave for a while, as he needs to focus on his recovery and well-being. This means that her family is missing one parent's income.
Krystal is a highly qualified professional with more than 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, however (as has happened to many of us) she has found herself between jobs for several months now. Surprisingly, her status as a part-time elected official has actually made it harder for her to find work because her elected schedule needs to be flexible and many full-time jobs cannot accommodate that.
Krystal is caught between a rock and a hard place - she ran for office because she wanted to make sure that no child would struggle with homelessness and hunger the way that she did as a child, but even now, as an elected official, her family is in need of some love and support. She has bravely spoken about her childhood struggles with homelessness, abuse, and food scarcity publicly. She has spoken out on racism, poverty, and lack of health care access in her community. She is a hard-working advocate for disadvantaged folks. Now that her family is facing hard times, it's time for her community to STEP UP.
While Krystal and her husband are fighting to find a solid source of income, let's make sure they can put food on the table for their kids in the meantime. Please give what you can.
Thank you for every dollar that you can give. It means more than you know.
