Krystyna’s Transplant Recovery Fund

Hi, my name is Gwendolyn. I am fundraising on behalf of my daughter, Krystyna. Krystyna has battled a plethora of health issues for most of her life. She received her first health diagnosis—juvenile diabetes at age nine. By the time she was in her teens, she was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis and high blood pressure. Two years ago, she had retinal detachment surgery. This time last year, she was diagnosed with stage four kidney disease and would eventually need a kidney-pancreas transplant. On July 4, 2023, we received the call we had been waiting for. A donor match had become available. So, we headed to New Orleans, eager to get relief from some of Krystyna’s illnesses. She will be in the hospital for seven days after surgery. The recovery time for a kidney-pancreas transplant is six months. We will have to make frequent trips to and from News Orleans during that time. As a result, she will not be able to work, and I will have to miss work often. Donations to help us with our monthly expenses during her recovery and to cover anything her insurance does not are greatly appreciated.
