Ramon's Road To Recovery
Ramon is a Firefighter and Technical Rescue Technician here in Arizona. During a swift water training exercise, Ramon slipped, striking his head on a rock. The impact was so forceful it cracked his safety helmet. Five days later Ramon began to develop signs and symptoms consistent with stroke patients. Ramon was transported by Phoenix Fire units from his home to St. Joes Medical Center in Phoenix where an Ischemic Stroke was confirmed as a result of hitting his head. Ramon is currently experiencing deficits which include right sided facial droop, double vision, trouble walking and painful headaches as a result from his on the job injury. Ramon is currently healing and starting rehabilitation at St. Joes. Unfortunately, this injury will displace Ramon from firefighting duties for the foreseeable future as he rehabs and attempts to make positive improvements in his treatment plan. Ramon is a father to 2 beautiful young children and a loving husband to his bride. Ramon is the individual that can walk into any room an put a smile on faces. Ramon is an integral part of his fire departments Technical Rescue program and several other programs in the organization. Any support for Ramon and his family is greatly appreciated, please keep him and his family in your prayers and thoughts.
