KSBA Educational Foundation 2021-22 Campaign

Tax deductible
The KSBA Educational Foundation supports a growing number of initiatives to advance public education and the strategic position of school boards throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. While much of the foundation’s work is focused on programming that promotes effective school board governance, our most notable efforts center around providing scholarships to Kentucky public high school students.

For more than a decade, the First Degree Scholarship program has funded scholarships for eligible Kentucky high school seniors to attend any two- or four-year accredited college or university. Currently, four students are awarded with the First Degree Scholarships each year valued at $2,500 each. To mark the recent ten-year anniversary of the First Degree college scholarship program, KSBA announced an expansion of its scholarship opportunities by introducing a new track of awards to support Career and Technical Education (CTE). Beginning in 2022, First Degree CTE scholarships shall be awarded to eligible high school students to cover the costs associated with Industry Certifications offered as part of Kentucky’s CTE Career Pathways. At least 24 CTE scholarships will be awarded to Kentucky high school students (one male and one female student in each of KSBA’s 12 regions).

Selected scholarship recipients are traditionally awarded by the Kentucky School Boards Association at its Annual Conference.

First Degree scholarship funds are made possible by generous contributions to the KSBA Educational Foundation by our members, community partners and donors like you. Learn more about the foundation .
