Wendy’s fight against cancer
Donation protected
Hello all.
Our friend Wendy Belt needs our help. Wendy has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 Brocogenic Carcinoma Superior Sulcus Tumor and is in a fight for her life.
Those that know Wendy, know she would never ask for help and that is why I am doing it for her because the last thing she should worry about is how she will afford treatment, how to feed her family and her animals. She is a full time caregiver for her mother and in the next couple of weeks, Wendy is moving her elderly father into her home and she will also be his full time caregiver. Wendy had her husband Les have a pool maintenance business and while Wendy is going through her cancer treatment, she will not be able to help Les like she has in the past.
In addition to taking full time care of her mother and father, she is responsible for her four legged family and all of the ranch chores that come with it.
And here is the big reason this fundraiser is so very important. Wendy let me know her medical deductible is $20,000. Yes, that number is correct. :( She and Les will have to pay $20,000 towards her treatment before her medical insurance will take effect.
On Monday, August 21st, Wendy will start 6 rounds (days) of chemo AND 28 rounds (days) of radiation. She will be doing the chemo and radiation together on the same days. Once the 6 days of chemo have been completed, she will have a week or two off (while continuing radiation) and start her second, 6 rounds of chemo. The hope is the chemo and radiation will shrink the tumor enough to have surgery to remove it.
Anything you feel moved to donate will be so helpful and appreciated. Even help with ranch chores etc will be so very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for reading.
