In loving honor of Federico Canales Perez
Donation protected
This GoFundMe account was created to help cover the miscellaneous expenses and funeral costs. Our grandpa, Federico C. Perez, was born January 18th, 1941 and was reunited with his parents in Heaven on May 14th, 2019. He is survived by his wonderful wife, Guadalupe G. Perez, his 4 children, many grandchildren, and even more great grandchildren.
Our grandpa was a man of few words but when he spoke he shared the funniest jokes, commentaries, and observations. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as hunting, cooking barbeque, and sitting on the porch enjoying the weather. He was a wonderful story teller and enjoyed telling stories to anyone who would listen. He loved taking walks and always made a point to find something along the way.
He loved each and everyone of his family members. He made everyone feel welcome in his home. Grandpa would always find a way to provide for his family and was very creative - all of us have fond memories of using one of grandpa's creations whether it be the can crusher, his "flip cell phone", or his hanger clips to close chip bags.
He is already greatly missed and before he left this earth we spoke to him and let him know that grandma would be ok. We will continue to help and take care of grandma.
We are hoping to raise $3,000.00 to cover expenses such as floral arrangements, police escorts, church costs, obituary costs, and many others.
The viewing, rosary, service and burial are set to take place on:
Wednesday, May 22nd @ Castillo Mission Funeral Home (520 N. General McMullen San Antonio, TX 78228)
Private/family viewing 1PM-4PM
Public viewing 4PM-7PM
Rosary 7-8 PM
Viewing resumes 8-9PM
and May 23rd 2019
Arrive at Castillo funeral home 8AM
Depart to church St. Mary Magdalen 9:15AM for 10AM mass
Depart to cemetery after mass (San Fernando Cemetery #2 746 Castroville Rd. San Antonio, TX 78237)
Any assistance, donation, prayers, and kind thoughts are greatly appreciated. Every bit helps.
We will end with a quote that grandpa would often say as he took his strolls around the neighborhood.
"A poor man's got poor ways" - This was a sign of his creativity and his way of saying where there's a will there's a way.
You will forever be loved and missed.
Thank you and God Bless,
The family of Federico "Fred" C. Perez
