Our lifelong identities, values, and behaviors develop around ages 10 to 17. Young Eritreans often navigate their Eritrean and American cultural identities during this time. The Eritrean Youth Mentorship Program (EYMP) founders realized that few Eritrean programs target this critical age group and decided to create EYMP in 2018.
The Eritrean Youth Mentorship Program provides a space for youth, parents, and young adults to mentor and learn from each other, fostering stronger relationships within the Eritrean community. Our programs offer Eritrean youth role models that can help them navigate school, career goals, friends, culture, and many other challenges of adolescence. We do this through individual mentoring, group mentoring, and community-building events.
