The Ramos family needs your support

On February 9th 2024, our dad Rocky was taken to the hospital after a couple weeks of not acting like himself. We have been confronted with a heart-wrenching reality; Rocky was diagnosed with four, stage 4 brain tumors, specifically know as glioblastomas. He had surgery to remove one of the tumors on the left frontal lobe on Tuesday, 2/13/24, and that is how we got the diagnosis we currently have. Unfortunately, further surgery to remove the remaining tumors is not an option. We hope that radiation and/or chemotherapy will be effective, but it is unknown the toll it will take on him at this time. The tumors are located in his right temporal lobe, corpus callosum and left frontal lobe. They are very large, aggressive and advanced.

This all started over the past 2 months with slight personality changes and extreme lethargy we thought was in connection with his hip replacement surgery on December 7th, 2023. These symptoms have severely impacted his ability to work. The Ramos siblings are now facing an overwhelming situation, as we cannot leave Rocky alone due to his condition.

As his symptoms worsen with the tumors progressing it deepens the need for someone to be with him consistently.

The financial strain on the family is increasing. We hope this fundraiser will help relieve some of the financial stress, allowing us to focus on treatment and ultimately comfort care.

Currently he is in an acute rehab facility to hopefully gain strength and mobility back after a tough surgery. The side effects of his ongoing treatment have been harsh. He has been on steroids to help reduce the swelling in his brain since the diagnosis, but that leads to muscle weakness, extreme fatigue and confusion.

The impact on Michelle, Nick, and Lillie is immense. Rocky has always been the one of the most supportive people in our lives and always wants to be there for others, whether it’s for family or friends. I know so many people who have been positively touched by my dad’s kindness and love throughout the years. We are struggling to cope as we watch our dad fight this battle. With Michelle expecting a baby boy in May, it is adding to the emotional complexity of the situation.

We have been reluctant to share his story publicly however, I feel now is the right time to reach out for support.

This fundraiser is a personal appeal to friends and those who have loved my dad and the Ramos family for many years. We need your help to support him through this incredibly challenging time.

I kindly request your assistance in spreading the word and contributing whatever you can. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $35,000 to help cover his house payments, insurance and medical expenses.
