Kurt Carr (Jr. and Sr.) Medical Fundraiser

On Wednesday 7/28 8:00PM I received a call from my friend Kurt that his son had just been burned in a house fire and he was on his way to UC Davis.

On Thursday 7/29 we learned that Kurt Jr. has second and third degree burns on both legs from his knees to his ankles and also on his right arm. He was cooking with oil and it got away from him. When his efforts to extinguish the flaming pan from the stove failed, he decided to attempt to remove it from the kitchen to outside. In doing so, he was splashed with flaming oil which engulfed his pants in flames as well as destroyed the house from the kitchen through the living room.

Thankfully, Kurt Jr. has excellent medical insurance and has homeowners insurance that will help with most of the damage.

Kurt Sr. is in a bit of a pickle. He's had the expense of traveling from Magalia to Sacramento to support his son and has burned through his available vacation time as well as had unexpected travel and overnight expenses.

The funds raised here will be used to fill the gaps for both Kurt Jr. and Sr. as they both work through the recovery process.
