In May 2023, I suffered a brain injury from severe AuDHD burnout. For those who don’t know, burnout for people with autism and/or ADHD presents like diet dementia. We lose short-term memory, basic motor skills, and the general bandwidth to handle emotional regulation and stress. I had to quit my job because any amount of stress would induce terrible migraines. For 2 weeks after, I wandered around my apartment in the dark or wearing sunglasses until my brain repaired itself enough to handle indoor lighting and sunlight. I can no longer work unless it’s a remote freelance position, but I’ve been applying for months and no one’s hiring.

I’ve been trying to get approved for disability benefits for 5 months now and my savings have run out. I’m running out of personal items to sell online for a quick buck to buy groceries and pay bills. I had to get a brain MRI in September and I’m now drowning in those medical bills. I can only do food delivery for a couple hours at a time before the overstimulation induces another migraine. I have to keep these migraines under control as much as I can while I heal, or else it could lead to vision loss.

If I can hit this goal of 2 months’ rent listed above, the peace of mind that would bring me would mean the absolute world for my recovery and wellbeing. Anything you can offer, even just sharing this gofundme, is a massive, MASSIVE help.
