Help Us Rehome Pit Bulls Today
Donation protected
Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society
When you or a neighbour find a stray pet, where do you turn? If you are like most in our communities, you call the Humane Society. Because you know we will respond quickly and professionally. And you know that every effort will be made to locate the pet’s owner.
Sometimes, though, a pet cannot be rehomed – the owners may have relocated or passed away. Other times, a stray pet presents its own unique problem.
This is the case with three pit bulls now residing in our Animal Welfare Centre. One came to us as a stray; two were owner-surrendered. And they cannot be rehomed in Ontario because pitbull is a banned breed.
We're asking donors to help us with a one-time gift so that we can safely and quickly relocate these three pets to the Saskatoon Humane Society where they will be cared for until new homes are established.
Our costs for this transfer are not significant, but they are outside our current budget – air fare and cages will cost approximately $2000.
Your ongoing support is truly appreciated as it allows us to care for more than 5000 animals each year. Thank you for considering this request.
