Support Jamie’s Battle Against Ovarian Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Taylor Farmer and I am raising funds for my step mother, Jamie Farmer and my father Eric Farmer as she battles Stage 3 ovarian cancer.
Last year during the fall, Jamie was diagnosed with Stage III ovarian cancer and has been fighting the battle against it since before any of us even were aware cancer was in her body.
Over the year’s before last October I listened as my step mum would tell me and our family about going in and out of the doctor’s office getting misdiagnosed while symptoms were arising overtime (that we and the medical system were unaware during the time were symptoms).
October 8th, 2025 us as a family were informed that Jamie’s concerns were right and that she had been going up against ovarian cancer undiagnosed and was now considered to be in Stage 3 ovarian cancer.
Jamie was triaged in to have surgery where the doctors were able to get a percent of the cancer out of her body, but the rest will need to be dealt with by chemotherapy.
To say the least, the time since October has been full of hospital stays, surgeries and now we are watching and supporting her go through chemotherapy to try and increase the chance of her survival and recovery. We’ve spent endless amount of hours inside the hospital & waiting rooms, celebrated holidays and birthdays at the VGH & Jubilee, and my father alone has spent countless late nights after work being by my step moms side while she’s been admitted as now we’re in a situation where he can’t not work.
Stage 3 ovarian cancer is considered to be rather advanced has now spread to other parts of her body, making every day an unpredictable day.
I as a daughter have watched the toll this has taken on our family. My father, Eric, has used his available time away from work to spend helping our mum recover from surgeries, take her to the cancer clinic, doctor appointments, etc. My dad needs to be at work due to his position.
We are reaching out to community, friends and family now because as she undergoes treatment, the bills and monthly expenses have become overwhelming. Unfortunately, as I’ve said Jamie is unable to work during this time, and due to her health working & selling her art work has also been affected, which makes it even harder to keep up with the costs of care, treatments, and everyday living expenses.
As we continue to navigate this challenging journey with my stepmother’s stage 3 ovarian cancer diagnosis, we are reminded daily of the power of community, love, and support. Every donation, message, and share brings us one step closer to easing her burdens and providing the care she so desperately needs. Your generosity means the world to us and helps give her hope during this incredibly difficult time.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by us in this fight. Your kindness makes all the difference. Together, we will continue to push forward, showing strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
With gratitude and love,
Taylor Farmer & the Farmer Family.
