Send Sophi to the Downhill MTB World Championship

Hi my name is Sophi and I have been a mountain biker since I was 5 years old. I spent every summer in bike camp loving every minute.

Last summer I started Downhill Mountain Bike racing and decided I loved it. Over the winter I trained at the gym and then got on my bike as soon as the snow melted.

I race in the UCI Junior women’s category and this summer I won the BC Provincials and came second at the Canadian Nationals. These, plus my other race results meant I was selected to be on the Canadian National Team for the 2023 MTB World Championships in Glasgow, UK.

I received my invitation on July 19 and had to accept by July 20 for travel on July 30th. I am required to pay for my flights and an athlete fee. In addition to this, my bike is in rough shape and requires some upgrades before heading to Europe. As I was not expecting to be selected, I have not saved enough money to cover my trip and need some help to make this opportunity a reality for me.
