Support Carlson Family after Wildfire Devastation
Donation protected
Our friend and colleague Brianne Carlson, along with her husband Mark and son Jac, lost their home in the Tantallon Wildfire on May 28, 2023. While they navigate their way through plans for rebuilding, they still need to deal with the more urgent needs of housing and providing a sense of normalcy for their two-year old son Jac. They have managed to secure housing which they can move into this summer, but still need to deal with outfitting the house, and themselves, with everything you can imagine. Brianne’s house was unfortunately one that was impacted even before the first emergency alert. By the time they realized they needed to evacuate, the property was already engulfed in flames, resulting in an inability to grab even the most basic items. There is a limit to the amount that insurance will cover, and even then, most things must be paid for out of pocket first.
Even after the devastation Brianne’s family has experienced, they still feel lucky, and are grateful that everyone in their neighborhood was able to escape safely. While there are things that Brianne’s family will never be able to replace, this fund may be able to help
them live a little more comfortably, with a little less stress, while they try to rebuild their life.
