Kyeesi's Cancer treatments

Hi my name is Kyeesi and I'm almost 3 years old! My Mommy took this picture of me when I was only a 1 year old, 4 days before I got sick :(
Here I am at Children's Hospital, in my big girl bed! playing with my favorite stuffed animal Little Lammy! My doctors and nurses have taken such good care of me. See, I have been fighting a rare form of blood and bone marrow cancer since my first birthday. My mommy & daddy told me the name; it's Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). I know, I cant say it either, but I fight it everyday! I've made friends with the other children that have cancer, too. I've spent most of my 3 years on earth here in the hospital, with my mommy and daddy by my side. Here I am, in my favorite blue and pink robe, having my private dance party! My mommy & daddy love to see me laugh, dance, and just have a lot of fun (shhh, so do I)!!Last spring, my doctors told mommy & daddy that the AML was sleeping inside of my body (in remission). We all were so happy! My name went on a special list for kids like me. This list was for a bone marrow transplant. More big words, but mommy & daddy were so happy; ME TOO! Last summer was the best time EVER! We saw family and friends I didn't know. My Auntie came all the way from a place called "The Valley", and my big brother came all the way from Sacramento, CA to join in the festivities. My mommy made a cake for my cousin who was celebrating his 1st birthday! We laughed and played, and had FUN, FUN, FUN, ALL OF US TOGETHER. I even went to the beach for the first time, and I loved it!
Late last summer, I started to feel kinda yucky, again! My doctors put me back in Children's Hospital. They put a lot of medicine in my little body called Chemotherapy. I've had it before. That stuff makes all your hair come out; I didn't like that too much. My daddy cut off his long, beautiful locks so we could be twins. My mommy is so pretty with her long braids; she makes me so happy. The Chemo worked for a short time, and I was too sick to have the bone marrow transplant. We have been in Children's Hospital for a long time now. My mommy & daddy love me so much because we are a FAMILY. They are with me all the time, and that makes me feel better in my heart. That's where all my LOVE is, and I LOVE MY MOMMY & DADDY FOREVER! The doctors have told us the Chemo treatments didn't make a difference this time, and they want mommy & daddy to enjoy our family time, together, out of the hospital. The doctor's used a word we didn't think of before: HOSPICE CARE. I'm resting and asking God for another favor; a cure for my disease so no little kids, like me, have to suffer.
