My name is Shannon and I'm Mom to Kye. In 2013 he was diagnosed leukemia, b-cell ALL, at the age of 17. After 8 1/2 years the cancer has come back.

This time it started as a tumor that fractured his T10 vertabrea. He had back surgery Aug 24th and is still recovering and relearning to walk. Once he has healed enough they will start treatment for his leukemia. He'll spend 12 days in the hospital receiving chemotherapy for 24 hours a day. Then he'll be an outpatient that requires a hospital visit every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for up to 5 months. Once that is complete he will be receiving a bone marrow transplant.

Kye could be off work for at least a year and while he may receive benefit coverage it never seems to be enough. Especially when it comes to parking, fuel, over the counter meds and whatever else he may need. All monies raised will be used for his medical needs not covered.
