Kyla's Jabberwock Fundraiser

Donation protected
Greetings Family and Friends,

Please join us in supporting Kyla Pauline Curry, the Chopped Chef, Jr. Champion, in her quest as a debutante in the “2024 Jabberwock Debutante Cotillion” sponsored by the Chattanooga Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in collaboration with DeSTI Foundation. The Cotillion will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Jabberwock Debutante participants raise funds for the community and provide scholarships for local students. All funds raised will determine who will be crowned Miss Jabberwock as well as support the educational goals of local students and community projects. Kyla has participated in her late mother’s foundation, The Ivy R. Curry Memorial Foundation Scholarship, to provide over $10,000 to freshmen students over the past three years and feels this quest is right in line with her mother’s wishes to support the educational dreams of well-deserving students.

Kyla is a focused, determined, and purposeful 16-year-old who gained national attention when she won the Chopped, Jr. cooking contest on Food Network. It is with this same drive that she approaches raising funds to support scholastic achievements for well-deserving students. She is a 4.0 student at East Hamilton High School and is involved in many social causes, such as literacy, social justice, and equity. As a teacher’s aide, she tutors students at East Hamilton and has worked with the Learning Loop Virtual School to help students narrow the educational gap caused by COVID-19. Kyla plans to attend Spelman University and major in Food Science. One day she will have an alternative solution to the world’s food shortage in starving nations.
