Help Kyle and Family

My name is Luke Lancaster and I am starting this fundraiser for my 26 year old brother Kyle and the rest of my family who have been by his side since the day he was admitted. On January 9, 2024, Kyle suffered from a stroke and/or seizure stemming from a sinus infection and was rushed to the emergency room where he was treated for meningitis. After completing a spinal tap and moving him into the ICU, they determined that Kyle does not have meningitis but another type of brain infection called a Subdural Empyema. Kyle has remained in the ICU while being treated for much more than just a brain infection. He has suffered neuro fevers, had brain surgery to relieve the pressure and remove fluid from the brain among other things.

It is going to be a long road ahead for Kyle and my family as we still do not know what the outcome looks like just yet.

Currently, as of today February 6, 202 Kyle is in the Progressive Care Unit but is still not conscious, he can’t speak but he does know if someone is in the room, he will crack a smile if someone says something funny but for the most part, he is still unresponsive due to the swelling in his brain.

Any help is appreciated, the financial implication of this event is still unknown but we expect a large bill from the hospital once he is discharged and we are anticipating he will have to be transferred to a care facility for extended recovery. This has been a very stressful time for my family and I and I am trying to lessen the financial burden of this major life event. Donations will be used to help Kyle and his family with financial obligations during his extended hospital stay and subsequent rehabilitation and recovery.
