It is with deep emotion that Joan and our families would like to let you know that her loving fiancée Kyle, passed away yesterday morning in New York surrounded by his family. Kyle lost his courageous battle after a long hard fight. We want to thank everyone for their continued support through the last few months and the upcoming days and weeks as we navigate a life without Kyle in it.

Hi, we are the family of Kyle MacPherson, and we are trying to raise funds for him after he recently received a shocking medical diagnosis.

On the afternoon of June 22nd, 2023, Kyle MacPherson, along with his fiance Joan Porambo and immediate family received news that no family should have to hear for the second time in his life...you have cancer!

Kyle went to the emergency room in Troy, New York for back pain he’d been suffering through. After some scans and tests, they found he had a cancerous mass on his L3 vertebrae. He traveled to his fiance's home state of Pennsylvania for a biopsy that they were able to schedule within two days of receiving his scans. The biopsy on his spine indicated a high grade carcinoma with glandular differentiation which is a metastatic disease or stage 4 cancer. Kyle is back in New York so he can begin his treatment as soon as possible.

As many of you may know, Kyle had Ewing Sarcoma when he was twenty years old. He beat it and went into remission after surgery and countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation.

So to hear those words again, at only 39 years old, brings back all those feelings and memories of the long fight Kyle endured over twenty years ago. Kyle is facing this diagnosis with the drive and determination he brings everyday as a chef and to his business.

The great financial burden this will cause is still unknown. Our family has started this GoFundMe to help Kyle ease the upcoming financial burden of endless medical and travel expenses between Troy and NYC. This will also help him financially as this battle will force him to place his career on hold. Your contributions, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in Kyle’s life.
