Kylee and Josh Swenson GoFundMe

On April 20th, Kylee went into work for a seemingly-normal day. That morning, a coworker was miraculously running late and stopped in Kylee's office to say hi. After a few minutes of talking, Kylee suddenly went into cardiac arrest, stopped breathing, and became unresponsive. Kylee's coworker was able to call 911 and grab the other coworker, upstairs, who was then able to perform CPR. They attended to Kylee until medical personnel arrived, thus preserving her life.

Kylee was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where she went through many extensive tests and screenings, including multiple MRIs, blood tests, CT scans, an EEG, and an EKG. She was sedated, on a ventilator, had three picc lines, and was hospitalized for eight days. She was finally diagnosed with arrhythmia and had a defibrillator device implanted in her chest. This will help regulate her heartbeat and provide the electrical currents it needs, in order to avoid any chance of arrest in the future.

Kylee was released with a home nurse and physical therapist to help her recover. She was out of work until June, where her return and ability to work has been slow, but gradual. Kylee still feels some fatigue and is currently not able to use her right arm at full capacity or lift more than 20 lbs. She will probably not be able to for quite some time. Her husband, Josh, also took a few weeks off to help attend to Kylee and be with her, especially while she was hospitalized.

We are raising a GoFundMe to help offset emergency and medical costs, as well as some monthly expenses for the time they both have been and will be out of work. Kylee has no history of heart issues, so this has been greatly unanticipated. If you would like to help alleviate their out-of-pocket costs, please feel free to donate any amount you would like.
