Kylee Dutch Family Fund

My best friend's daughter Kylee, her boyfriend Josh, her 5 year old daughter Samria, and her 7 year old dog Cooper, were in a semi-truck accident this past Wednesday about an hour outside Tulsa, OK.  They were on their way to pick up a load in Texas when they hit inclement weather in Oklahoma and were detoured off the main highway to a 2 lane highway. A patch of ice and another semi broadsiding them stopped their dreams for this year.  The cab separated from the chassis and rolled several times into a ditch on the side of the rode. Josh was knocked unconscious while Kylee was trapped under the mangled dashboard. Samria and Cooper were in the back of the cab and were trying to find a way out. Once Josh came around he was able to get everyone out of the truck but unfortunately Cooper was so scared he ran off into the storm.

They were taken to St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa where Kylee underwent surgery for a compound fracture of the right tibia. She had a second surgery to repair the tendon damage in her right hand and thumb. She is also very banged up and bruised with cuts on her face, neck and back. Josh has suffered multiple injuries including a concussion and severe bumps and bruises.  He is currently unable to walk and is in a wheelchair. Samria was the luckiest of the crew with a few bumps, bruises and scratches.  She is very traumatized by this event and told her Grandma that truck was spinning around and around like it was in a washing machine. She has been very brave for her mother.

Kylee is still in the hospital and will have to go to a rehab facility upon release. She found out that she will not be able to walk for the next 3 months and a full recovery could take 6 months or longer. Josh will be back on his feet for another several weeks. Samria has been picked up by her great grandparents and is safe with her family back in Kansas.  Cooper, however, is still missing in Oklahoma.  There are several people and agencies that continuing to look for him in the hopes of reuniting him with his family.

They currently don't have a home because their plan was to save money for 6 months while on the road. At that point they were going to find a place for Kylee and Samria before school started in the fall. Now they are unable to work and while the insurance will pay for part of this there is still more to cover. Everything they owned was in the truck and they are now starting from scratch. In addition, they were given the news that Kylee is just weeks pregnant. While this is an unplanned blessing they will soon have another beautiful baby to support.

We are trying to raise money to pay what the insurance does not cover, additional medical bills and to help with living expenses until they can get back to work.

Thank you in advance for any support you can give. If you prefer to mail a check it can be sent to:
