Kyle’s New Hips

Hi! My name is Erin and I’m fundraising for my big brother, Kyle Eber. He’s only 41 years old, but he’s having a double hip replacement. His first surgery will be on August 23rd, followed by a second surgery in October. This is not his first hip surgery; as a teenager in 1997, he had pins in his hips because he was growing too fast and his growth plates were slipping. As a result of those initial surgeries, he was able to live a relatively normal teenage and young adult life.

As it always does, time catches up to us. His surgeries in the 90s were never going to be a permanent fix. As the years went by, Kyle began suffering from decreasing range of motion in his legs and severe pain that’s not controlled with medication. He’s in pain all the time. It’s at the point where he can no longer put on his socks and shoes without help. When the pain started causing him to miss a day here and there from work, he decided he needed to see a doctor. This is what brought him to an orthopedic surgeon in Lawrenceville named Dr. Wood, a leader in his field. The renowned specialist looked at x-rays and concluded that, due to the extensive irreparable damage to Kyle’s hips, the only option is a double total hip replacement.

Kyle is an electrician and makes his living doing manual labor. His profession is rough on his body and he needs these surgeries to be healthy enough to support himself. He will be on short term disability, but still needs help making ends meet. He has a lot of bills to pay. Please donate what you can. Prayers are also appreciated. Thank you!!
