From Cancer To A Scholarship Fund

After teaching for over 30 years I have been blessed to meet incredible people.  Kyle is the brother of one of my favorites and through the years we have become good friends In August 2016, 22 year old Kyle was diagnosed with cancer, only 3 months after graduating from college.  Rather than sit back and feel bad about his situation he is now looking to help others who may be facing similar challenges.  It is his dream to establish a scholarship fund for students from his high school who  have somehow been touched by cancer. He would like to award the first scholarship in May 2017 and then continue awarding deserving students for as long as he is able.  Despite the oncology journey that he has travelled it is heartwarming to see him focus on the needs of others.  I cannot wait to see him next spring at the high school Awards Assembly presenting a gift to a deserving student.  What an amazing moment that will be for such a selfless young man and all those who love him.
