Kylie fights Breast Cancer

Hi, my name is Drew and I am fundraising for Kylie.

If you have met Kylie, you know she would be the first person to give you the shirt off her back. She is the most beautiful soul inside and out that lights up every room she steps in. Kylie is the most positive person I've ever met, she finds the good in every situation she, or anyone she knows, is faced with.

Recently Kylie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, with cancer deposits also found in her Lymph nodes. Throughout this difficult journey so far there have also been enormous financial burdens. Being a young person with cancer brings on many challenges for the future. Her life has suddenly changed from working full time and part time, while taking university courses, to being filled with appointments, surgeries, treatments and a scary and unknown future. She did not qualify for any medical or disability leave and EI will not cover the amount of time she will need to be off.

Kylie has had to spend thousands on IVF and medications to give her the chance to have children after all treatments are done. Also, in the past month she has started aggressive chemotherapy treatments that come along with more medications and hair loss. Kylie has cut and donated her hair her entire life to be made into wigs for children with cancer and now finds herself having to spend large amounts for wigs, head coverings and scalp care for herself! Seems ironic doesn't it?

She truly appreciates all the support and encouragement, big or small, that has been sent her way. This journey will be a long one, as she may require more treatments and more surgeries, while finding herself on medications for at least 10 years.
