Kylie Ochoa aka Miss Anon Fatale needs a helping hand

This is Kylie Ochoa, and she needs your help.

Life hits hard in the dark months, and this year it's hit Kylie and her family particularly hard. That's why she needs this fundraiser. She's hoping the hacktivism community to which she's contributed so much for so long can help her and her family over this short-term hurdle.

Kylie Ochoa , also known as Miss Anon Fatale , also known for the most famous curves in hacktivism (well, it's true!), is currently and through no fault of her own dealing with unemployment, possible homelessness, family breakup, and rock-bottom poverty. She's starting over from nothing, seven thousand miles away from her hometown. Knowing Kylie, she won't be down for long; she's a doer. But right now, life has knocked her down, so she is calling on the community to help her get back on her feet. Once she's up, she'll take it from there and in return, support the community in the future as she has her whole life.

Kylie has been a part of Anonymous and the hacktivism community for more than a decade and, together with Higinio Ochoa aka w0rmer of CabinCr3w , has two young boys, the eldest of whom was born while his father was still in custody. She needs to find a safe, clean home to raise her sons, preferably close to their existing school to minimize the disruption this will have on the highly sensitive kids. This involves a security deposit as well as rent, and preferably enough for next month as well. After that she'll be in a better place to find work.

She's currently living in an RV which isn't roadworthy, but has been served eviction papers from the RV park because of the family drama. She can't just drive away, alas. And she has nowhere to go if she could.

The immediate goal of this fundraiser is to get safe, stable housing for her to build a new life with her two young boys. Then there's court paperwork to file to get a divorce, custody, and all the rest of that mess, and lawyer's fees and filing fees for all of it. If the fundraiser succeeds in covering these costs, then the stretch goals are to fix the car (also not roadworthy) and to sell one or both vehicles, splitting the equity with her ex in accordance with the Nevada community property laws. And also to fix the truck, the one vehicle which IS running, but has developed some undiagnosed problems over the last week. The repairs of the vehicles are "stretch goals" because Kylie currently doesn't know what they'll cost to fix.

Throughout creating this budget we have used average costs in Las Vegas, which can be an expensive city with higher than usual cost of living. Some, like the cost of a contested divorce with a lawyer, could vary by orders of magnitude, but we've stuck with the average according to data from local legal firms.

Note that the donations are in Canadian dollars, because my bank is in Canada. This means you can bump up your donation by 30% without it costing you an extra cent! So if you want to send Kylie $100, put 130 in the donation box because of the exchange rate. Your account will be debited 100 USD and the fundraiser gains $130 CDN.

Kylie has already been looking at apartments, sublets, etc, but has been running into some predictable problems. Let's get her out of that, shall we?
