Laptops for Students

Hello my name is Quino lead vocalist of the band Big Mountain. I live in San Diego, California but I spend a lot of time in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

On one of my recent trips I met a young man that was helping his father in a construction project. His name is Omar Franco and I soon learned through our conversation that his high school will not be conducting in class instruction this fall. I asked him if he had a laptop for whatever remote learning his school had planned and he said “no”. I looked at his father and he sighed but said he was working on a plan but he hadn’t figured out how to manage the expense. 
That evening I made a post on Facebook asking if any of my friends had an extra laptop that they could give to Omar. The response was quick and overwhelming. But soon the conversation turned to the possibility of helping more kids than just Omar. Then a friend suggested gofundme.com
